Nexus HR recently had the honor of being interviewed by Le Figaro to share our vision of the recruitment market in Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes. The interview explores the specificities of Monaco, the concrete benefits for professionals and the outlook for this unique market.

In this article, we look back at the key points discussed during this exchange: the exceptional dynamism of the Monegasque job market, the Principality’s fiscal and social advantages, and the opportunities for future growth. Watch the full interview below:

Monaco: a dynamic and expanding job market

Monaco has a unique configuration in the global economic landscape: with 63,000 employees for just 37,000 inhabitants, the Principality boasts an exceptionally dynamic job market. This is due to the region’s economic attractiveness and its ability to attract talents from far beyond its borders.

“When I returned to Monaco in 2017, there were 55,000 employees, today there are over 63,000,” our founder testifies in the interview. This steady growth illustrates the vitality of the Monegasque market, which shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, the principality’s ambition is clear: to reach 100,000 employees by 2050, an increase of almost 60% compared to today.

This growth perspective represents a considerable opportunity both for developing companies and for candidates seeking new professional opportunities. Monegasque companies are particularly keen to work with local players who know the market inside out.

In this context, Nexus HR positions itself as a strategic partner, with in-depth knowledge of local specificities and proven expertise in the recruitment of middle and top management profiles.

The concrete advantages of working in Monaco compared to France

Working in Monaco offers significant advantages that explain the growing appeal of the Principality to talented professionals. As highlighted in our interview, “beyond the work environment, which is indeed very pleasant, there are other tangible benefits.”

Substantial tax benefits

One of the main advantages lies in Monaco’s tax system. “The gap between gross and net salary in Monaco is smaller than in France. For an executive, the difference is about 13 to 15%, whereas in France, it is closer to 23-25%.” This difference represents a considerable increase in purchasing power for professionals who choose to work in the Principality.

An advantageous social system

Social benefits in Monaco are particularly attractive:

  • An independent pension system, separate from the French system, and “overall much more competitive”
  • Family allowances that “are not income-dependent and are indeed very appealing” – more information
  • An exceptional quality of life paired with an international professional environment

These tangible benefits explain why many talented individuals choose Monaco to develop their careers.
